How (and why) you should give things up.
Hi Everyone! I hope you’re all well and improving your time management with my FREE tips each week. Today you will be getting two tips for the price one!
Week Eight-Eat Your Spinach First!
Your spinach is the most difficult task on your to-do list- the task you are most likely to procrastinate on.
If you let this task sit on you plate uncompleted while you do a hundred other things, it will drain your energy without you even realising.
As philosopher William James said, ‘there is nothing so fatiguing as an uncompleted task’.
Therefore, complete the tough task first.
Get it out of the way, and everything else on your plate will be that much more enjoyable.
Week Nine-Give Something Up!
What the World needs now isn’t more, but less.
Sometimes we have so many things on our plate, we can begin to feel that we are spreading ourselves way too thin.
What could you give up? What could you NOT be doing to reclaim some of your time? Resign from the school committee, stop reading that book you’re not enjoying, reduce your Internet surfing, focus on or two favourite hobbies rather than dabbling in a dozen.
Don’t look at giving things up as a failure, but rather as giving you more time for the things that really matter.
If you, like me, struggle to know what you should you should be giving up and what you should focusing on, timemanagementninja.com has some handy hints here:
